All spring I have been working on the 2009 "Stomp the Grapes" 1/2 Marathon, but unfortunately I have not gotten around to getting the site updated as it should be. Thanks for your patience! The entry list is current as of today & the new course map is posted. We have just received final approval from Quail Hollow State Park to run through their facilities & Jim Wilhelm is working on the final course certification.
I think you will like the new course! I believe it is easier that the course the past three years & times will be faster. Remember, course records from the past course have transferred and any new records set will qualify for the monetary awards for new records. "Stomp" is unique in giving record money for all age group records! Please click awards for Age group & overall records.
There will be adequate parking for relay team members in Quail Hollow and both exchange points (Mile 5 & Mile 9) are in the park. Thus, the relay legs will be 5 miles, 4 miles, & 4.1 Miles. Relay teams, plan accordingly!
We are very excited about the race being at Maize Valley & its tremendous facility. Great parking (no shuttle), a much larger patio for the post race festivities, and great support from Bill & Michelle Bakan the owners of the winery. We look forward to this being our best year ever-if you havent yet joined, please do so! I will be making post on a regular basis! Thanks, Terry Lewis RS Racing Systems Subway Challenge Series
